Government response to the Statutory Review of the Meetings and Documents Amendments

The Corporations Act 2001 (the Act) was amended so entities could:

• hold virtual meetings
• sign, execute and send documents electronically.

An independent panel reviewed whether the amendments were effective.

The panel made 11 recommendations in their final report. The government agreed or agreed in principle to all recommendations.

This response was tabled into both houses of parliament on 4 February 2025. This meets the requirement under subsection 1687J(6) of the Act.
