Future Made in Australia

In May 2025, responsibility for the Future Made in Australia agenda moved to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) following a government administrative change. DISR now performs the following functions in relation to Future Made in Australia:

  • coordinates the Future Made in Australia agenda across government
  • administers the Act (excluding Part 2 and section 13), Community Benefit Principles and Future Made in Australia Plans

The Department of the Treasury:

  • is responsible for Part 2 and section 13 of the Act, which established the National Interest Framework and sector assessment process.
