In the 2024–25 Budget, the Australian Government announced a Critical Minerals Production Tax Incentive to support downstream refining and processing of Australia’s 31 critical minerals from 2027–28 to 2039–40.

This forms part of the government’s Future Made in Australia package.

Treasury is seeking views from interested parties on the design implementation details and questions outlined in the consultation paper.
