On 4 July 2025, the Treasurer and the Minister for Finance asked Commonwealth regulators to suggest simple and useful ways to improve productivity. This could include helping businesses invest, grow, use new products and services, or cutting rules that are not needed.
Regulators were asked to send a short summary of the main ideas they found. They were told to focus on things that can happen soon.
In total, regulators identified more than 400 ideas.
