The Assistant Treasurer released the final report of the Independent review of the Enhanced Regulatory Sandbox (ERS).

The review examined how effective the ERS is for enabling financial innovation. It considered how improve the use of sandboxes to support:

  • more innovation
  • the adoption of emerging technologies across the financial system.

The review considered the broader settings for financial innovation in Australia. It explored ways to better enable financial innovation.

The review makes 6 recommendations. The government is considering them before finalising a response in the second half of 2026.
