The Review of Security of Payment Laws (Murray Review) examined ways to improve:
- consistency in security of payment legislation
- protections so subcontractors are paid on time for their work.
The Australian Government released a response to the Murray Review’s recommendations.
The response is forward-looking and pragmatic. It outlines how the government will continue:
- leading work with the states and territories to improve security of payment laws
- using wider policy levers to improve security of payment in the evolving building and construction sector
- progressing actions developed through the National Construction Industry Forum.
