Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements 2024–25

The 2024–25 Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES) help Senators and Members of Parliament review Appropriation Bills (Nos. 3 and 4) and Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Bill (No. 2) 2024–25, and help them understand the proposed allocation of resources within the portfolio.

The PAES serve a similar purpose to the Portfolio Budget Statements (PB Statements) but have a different focus.

• Both the PB Statements and PAES include Entity Resource Statements, which update Parliament on an entity’s proposed available resources.
• PAES also explains how resourcing is proposed to change since the Budget and why, including details on new measures since the Budget.

The PAES are considered a ‘relevant document’ under section 15AB of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, meaning they help interpret the Additional Estimates Appropriation Bills.
