Consumer Data Right: Privacy Impact Assessment (December 2022)



Part IVD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 mandates assessments of impacts to privacy as part of the sector designation and rulemaking stages.

Treasury engaged KPMG to conduct an independent analysis and assessment of the proposed operational enhancements to the rules and prepare a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA).

PIAs are used to identify the impacts that a project may have on the privacy of individuals, and set out recommendations for managing, minimising or eliminating these impacts. This assessment builds on the previous PIA prepared by Treasury.

Treasury has prepared a response to the recommendations set out by KPMG’s PIA.
