In the 2023–24 Mid‑Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook, the Australian Government announced implementing the Government’s response to the recommendations from the Statutory Review of the Payment Times Reporting Act 2020 (Government's response).
These proposed rules support the Payment Times Reporting (Amendment) Bill 2024 which received Royal Assent on 9 July 2024.
It contains technical matters such as reporting content and calculation methodologies required for payment times reporting.
These legislative reforms implement the overhaul set out in the Government's response and delivers the government’s commitment to improve small business payment times.

You can submit responses to this consultation up until 19 August 2024. Interested parties are invited to comment on this consultation.
