The purpose of this study is to establish a conceptual framework for considering the merits of financial system guarantees. It is not intended to result in policy recommendations to Government. Following completion of the study, the Treasury will conduct a public consultation process on possible policy options.

However, views and information from interested parties may assist the Study Team in framing its report. In addition, the Study Team plans to undertake targeted liaison with interested parties throughout the study period.

It would be appreciated if parties wishing to make formal submissions would frame these according to the items specified in the Study’s terms of reference and include a concise executive summary.

To assist the Study Team to meet its reporting date, interested parties are requested to provide any input by 28 November 2003. Material received after this date would of course be considered, to the extent that the Study Team is able to do so within its required timeframe.

The Study Team intends to publish all formal submissions that is receives on this website, except for commercial-in-confidence or other confidential content.
