Australian Government response to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee report: Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 and related Bills [Provisions]

On 20 August 2015, the Senate referred the provisions of the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 and related bills to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry. 

The Senate Committee tabled its final report on 14 October 2015. The committee’s report recommended that the Bill be passed. The dissenting report had six recommendations. Most of these recommendations were dealt with in the debate and by passing the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 and related bills.

On 10 August 2018, the Parliament tabled the Government response to these recommendations.
