Attached are two documents released under a Freedom of Information request in relation to historical data, estimates and projections of total interest bearing liabilities, Commonwealth Government securities on issue and headline cash balance of the Commonwealth.
The data for Document 2, which includes information on Government securities and total interest bearing liabilities from 2000-01 to 2014-15 has been sourced from publically available published information. For the years from 2000-01 to 2010-11, data has been sourced from the relevant Final Budget Outcome for each year and, from 2011-12 to 2014-15, data has been sourced from the 2011-12 MYEFO.
Due to a transcription error, data for Government securities in 2002-03 and total interest bearing liabilities in 2001-02 and 2002-03 is incorrect. The correct data for Government securities in 2002-03 is 62,894, and for total interest bearing liabilities in 2001-02 is 76,491 and in 2002-03 is 72,764.
