The exposure draft of the Census and Statistics (Census) Regulation 2015 remakes the Census and Statistics (Census) Regulations 2005 (the Regulations), which are due to sunset on 1 April 2016.
The exposure draft proposes no substantive changes to the matters on which the Australian Statistician can collect statistical information in a Census, as prescribed in the Regulations. Minor changes have been made to reflect current drafting practices and to improve readability.
The exposure draft also extends the operation of the Census and Statistics Act 1905 to Norfolk Island.
