The Consumer Data Right (CDR) is a rules and technical standards‑based framework that gives consumers the right to use the data Australian businesses hold about them for their own benefit.

The CDR is anticipated to expand and evolve over the next decade.

Treasury welcomes submissions about possible maintenance changes to the CDR rules to ensure they are fit‑for‑purpose and support the policy aims of CDR. For example, Treasury welcomes submissions about possible clarifications to the rules to ensure that participants can easily understand their rights and obligations under the CDR.
